From building dream homes to crafting dreamy soaps, Roopa’s always had an eye for beauty and detail. After 25+ years as an architect and interior designer, she traded blueprints for soap moulds and Soapistry was born!
What started as a creative curiosity quickly turned into a full-blown love affair with soap-making. She’s the heart and hands behind every product, blending her design flair into skin-loving creations that are anything but basic. Plain soap? Never heard of her.
Roopa’s passion bubbles over into everything she makes - with fragrances, colors, and ingredients that feel like a little daily luxury. She believes skincare should be joyful, intentional, and handmade (with love, of course).
Maya
Cofounder
Maya first stumbled into Soapistry fresh out of undergrad, when she wasn’t exactly sure what her next move should be, but starting a business with her mother definitely wasn’t on her 2019 bingo card!
What started as a side hustle quickly became her creative playground, where she naturally slipped into marketing, operations, and all things brand-building.
Fueled by that spark, she packed her bags and moved to London to pursue a Master’s in Marketing Communications, inspired by everything she learned while shaping Soapistry.
Three and a half years, a couple of chilly winters, and countless oat hazelnut cappuccinos later… she’s back!
Lakshmi
Core Team
Lakshmi wears many hats, and somehow makes it look effortless. Whether she’s whipping up recipes in culinary school or dreaming up content ideas for Soapistry, she pours her whole heart into everything she does.
Currently in her final year of a B.Sc in Culinary Arts (yes, she’s that cool), Lakshmi brings her creativity, thoughtfulness, and a serious eye for detail to the table - always jumping in to help, support, and spark new ideas.
She’s the kind of person who always shows up with a helping hand, a new concept, or a reminder that heart is everything. The kind of person every team needs.
Our products are made intentionally: in small batches, by hand, using ingredients that sound like they came from your kitchen, and not from a chemistry lab (!)

What is our refund/return/exchange policy?
Because our products are handmade and personal, we don’t accept returns or exchanges once they’ve been delivered.
That said, if your order arrives damaged or if you receive the wrong item, don’t worry!
